But, with a stagnant American economy and foreclosures on the rise, a growing number of American are choosing to dream big but live small. It’s called the Tiny House movement and from San Francisco to Pennsylvania, houses a third of the size of the average home are popping up. Totally agree, when you have travelled a little and seen how other people live you learn to appreciate what you have more; i’m actually thinking that the pregnant lady who was interviewed is living in a totally normal sized house which is in no way small,It’s actually medium sized for a family of 3 to 4 a small house would be 50 meter square then again i live in Europe.
and yet they ignore the actual reasons that cause them to live in these tiny boxes.

You read a lot into what I said. Did I say wanting to own property makes you a communist? What a stupid notion. Essentially I agree with everything you say, additionally, state controlled economies cause housing bubbles that cause people to lose money. I understand all that. However, a loan isn’t equal to slavery, its simple. It’s a voluntary trade, no one is forced to take out a loan.

Sorry, but apartments are definitely larger than 97 square feet. Many apartments are less than 400 square feet, but it’s surely rare when you find one less than 200 square feet. And apartments aren’t houses, btw.
Would be interesting to know what these variably tiny houses cost and I’m surprised the question wasn’t asked.

just for people who live and the US surrounded by huge houses,those “small houses” are pretty much the standard house in some countries
in canada,lower and middle class live in small cozy houses that cost like 80-260 thousands dollars
