|Solid video for those new to cycling,
Enjoyable video and the host/narrator does a really solid job sharing some basic thoughts on cycling. The multiple audio tracks make it easier to watch the video over and over while training. Only reason it is not 5 star is because the equipment he uses to “smooth” out the video ride make the entire image slightly blurry. Definitely not a sharp and clear image as he rides through the beautiful Colorado scenery. Overall, though, I would recommend to those who are new to cycling or want a more laid back training video.

|Ideal For Those at the Beginning-To-Intermediate Level,
I have almost all of the CyclingVideosOnline videos. I love each and every one of them. They are helping me to get fit. This one is more appropriate for people who are wanting to get started out in cycling the right way. It is excellent for that purpose.
1. Paul gives expert advice on getting fitted out properly on your bike. He talks about all of the basic-to-not-so-basic important things to do and know as you are starting out the right way.
2. The video takes us on a ride that includes all sorts of situations. There are nice, pleasant paths with a few walkers and other cyclists. There are busy highways. We go through tunnels and by the side of canals. We go into parks, down bike paths. We get to experience all of these things that might be intimidating to someone who is new to cycling. This is a great idea! If I were just getting ready to go out there, this is exactly what I would want. I would even obsess about those things.
3. All of the helpful reminders are there about cadence, rpms, etc. I loved the part where he said that if you are above a certain rpm, … you must be doing your own thing…and that’s okay. I was doing my own thing at that point.
4. Lots of encouragement through a continuing helpful discussion about preparing and how to prepare to deal with situations that will occur.
This is not my favorite for general fitness purposes, for a couple of reasons.
I don’t necessarily care about being prepared to change a flat or deal with all of those other outdoor biking situations, although I didn’t mind hearing about it. It was interesting to know all that’s involved in serious cycling.
Next, there was just too much concrete for me. Now I’ve lived in apartments before when I would have been thrilled to see the nice little paths with trees, the canal, etc. I prefer Paul’s other videos that have more ‘outdoors’ in the outdoors if you know what I mean. This one is too tame for me.
However, I just about killed myself on it. I was trying out two new pieces of exercise equipment and spent 2 hours and 17 minutes, but who’s counting, right? I would have stopped 30 minutes earlier, but I refused to quit before we got to our destination. For that reason, this video served my purpose as well as it will for those who are more serious about their cycling. My next one is going to be one of those grueling “Endurance” rides. I think I’ll cycle in Alaska tomorrow. We might learn a few things about cycling along the ride, but I can guarantee you that it won’t be tame and there won’t be much concrete.
