also i would like to know how how many years it takes to go through their training???!!!

Pediatric Oncology Nurse.

They do basic training as a nurse, then extra training to specialize.

I’m in a sorority and our philanthropy is Breast Cancer Awareness & Education. We’re having a “Breast Mania” week next semester and I’m the event chair. Each day, Monday through Friday, we are holding a separate event to raise money for Breast Cancer. Any ideas are greatly appreciated. Even though we’re a sorority and we’re raising money for breast cancer, please don’t put any negative comments/suggestions such as a wet t-shirt contest or anything. Thanks so much for any suggestions!

I find it annoying. I mean, who the hell is NOT aware of breast cancer?
I am very sympathetic to women who have breast cancer or who survived breast cancer. What is annoying is all the pink. What do you accomplish by purchasing and wearing a stupid pink ribbon? or the NFL players wearing pink shoes and gloves? I don’t know anyone who has never heard of breast cancer. So I think saying that wearing pink is for “awareness” is a bunch of BS. And don’t even get me started on where the money raised by purchasing these ribbons is going.

i had been given a clear notice on my esophogus cancer only a short 2 months ago and now after a esophoscope and biopsy the result is the cancer has returned…i am so devastated..what happens now to me in the treatment.?? i am a 62 yr old man who has never smoked, drank and done any kind of drugs…i was in great shape before this hit me in april of 2006, i have gone through a chemo and radiation treatmeant already…i was so sick and now still have so many bad results from them…no taste and eating..horrible smells that were wonderful before..my feet numb..yeast infection in my mouth and on the tongue…others too…

I am walking 60 miles over 3 days in less than 60 days and I need to raise $ 2200!!! I only have like $ 225. I dont have cancer. Neither does anyone in my family. I just want to do this because it’s such an incredible cause. I wont be able to participate if I dont come up with the money!!! No. In general people with cancer have short term hair loss and rarely receive real hair wigs. Most organizations including Locks of Love make wigs for a condition called Alopecia Areata which is NOT cancer. Locks of Love sells hair it receives overseas, so there is no tracking done, it can than put some of the money back into the non-profit part of their business or keep the extra income . . there is no tracking this part of their business.

Real hair wigs take about three or four different hair not just one . . so again it is not possible to track your own hair.

Their are other organizations too that will accept donated hair.
