I live in San Diego, CA, and I have bed bugs in the apartment we moved in on July 2007. It is now December 1 2007 and we barely found out what was the cause of the many bites my family and I had been getting. Before moving here we did not have this problem, so we complained at the office in the first weeks of November and up to now we have only been told that we need to pay for the extermination out of our own pocket. We have already lost in damage the living room, both mattresses and a bedroom set of a little less than 3,000 dollars. We still have one more room to check and just on the surface we have found about five. We are still throwing out as much as possible because a new member is coming in two months, my sister’s baby. This infestation has affected all of us, but mostly her. We don’t know what to do and we cannot take this condition anymore. What can we do?

I work for a property management co. in SD, what company manages your place?

Ask for proof that your place was professionally cleaned before you moved in. Unless you specifically knew that the carpet was not professionally cleaned, it should have been done and they will have documentation. If it was not cleaned or they have no proof you can go to small claims court. The tenant has priority over the owner, between you and me ( and everyone else on Answers) the tenant wins the case most of the time.

San Diego July 4th Firework Show Mishap Sets Off 18 Minutes of Fireworks in 15 Sec (July 5, 2012)

news.yahoo.com Independence Day celebrations are known for packing a punch when it comes to fireworks displays. People show up in droves at local parks to see colorful and magnificent pyrotechnics that usually last for several minutes. That was not the case in San Diego this Fourth of July.What was meant to be an 18-minute show lasted only about 15 seconds when a technical glitch caused every single firework to ignite at once. The crowd of thousands of onlookers at the show, which is one of the biggest in the country, was shocked as people figured out something must have gone wrong. Videos uploaded to YouTube were accompanied by audio of bewildered revelers, with one person saying, “Is that supposed to happen?”People also expressed their frustration and confusion on social media. One tweet summed up the disappointment many felt: “I waited 3 hours in the cold and paid for parking and got one little explosion?” According to the official website for the “Big Bay Boom,” as it is known, five minutes before the show was set to begin a signal was sent to the barges holding the fireworks to mark the timing for the event. But so far it’s unclear what caused the fireworks to ignite all at once. The website also has an image depicting what the event was supposed to look like — though some have said that it just serves as a disappointing reminder of an outing that was ruined.
