You need to either fill out a request for medical records in the Subpoena Department of the facility you want records from (they prefer you fill it out in person but sometimes they accept faxes). I believe there is a fee per page. If that doesn’t help, call member services and file a complaint. Member Services will help you with the necessary steps to get where you need to.

Once upon a time I was a heroine addict. I have been clean for over 2 years now with the help of the medication, Suboxone.

Now 7 months ago I gave birth to my first baby girl, via c section. The whole pregnancy was horrible, my doctors were so judgmental and before I left the hospital they sent CPS IN!!! I have been clean for two years I was so horrified that they did that to me. I am a fully functioning part of society, I have a job, raise my stepdaughter and we have a nice house and I am doing fabulous. So overall their judgment of me was very disturbing despite the fact that I have corrected my mistakes.

Anyway fast forward to the present. My csection scar has been really bothering me and I am aware that discomfort is nothing to be concerned about and sometimes even pain is ok, but it is constant, and I could be overreacting, but Id like to talk to a doctor about it. Whats holding me back is I know if I go in there and have to tell them I am on suboxone they are going to think I am just in there trying to get drugs and nothing I do or say is going to convince them otherwise. After my traumatic experience with them calling CPS in right after my child was born I am very reluctant to go talk to any doctor. So, would it be ok if I went in and did not tell them that I am on Suboxone? Would they be able to check pharmacy records to see that I am? I know you are supposed to be honest with doctors but I am afraid this past of mine will always haunt me whenever it comes to medical problems. =(

Physicians can call pharmacies and ask about your records. The pharmacy can call the prescriber and talk to them about your record. However, prescribers do not have direct access to your pharmacy records.

Here’s the deal..
My boyfriend has his daughter & plans on getting custody of her asap.
We’re in Texas & the mother is in Colorado. The daughter is almost 5 years old & we NEED to get her put into pre- k. We can’t do that though without her shot records.
I’ve already contacted the Colorado State Immunization System & they can not give shot records out, we have to speak with the last physician the child was taken which is not an option & the mother will not give the shot records or the Doctors information to the father.
What can we do? Are there any other options?

If you know which insurance she was on they would know what Dr. got billed last, my guess would be the state insurance and or medicaid if she is the kind of mother you are describing.

WORST case scenario, take her to a local pediatrician and they can do a blood test to see what antibodies she has already and therefor which shots she got. I think the test is expensive though so hurry and cover her under someones insurance. You do know that the jurisdiction of any custody case is where the child has lived for the last 6 months..right?
