Ok, I know you asked for someone in Houston & I’m not trying to be a smartass; but there is an AMAZING pain doctor in San Diego, CA named Sam Maywood. I don’t have his number anymore, but I”m relatively sure you can google him & get it. I was thinking that maybe you could call the office & see if he can recommend anyone out there. I know he knows pain specialists all over the country. He himself worked miracles on my husband, he was basically wheelchair bound because walking was so painful to him when he first went to see Dr. Maywood.
Good luck!

Medicare does not generally cover long term care. Depending upon the circumstances they may cover for a short period but then only for a day or two. This is why people need a long term care policy.
Here is the website for Texas Medicaid: http://www.hhsc.state.tx.us/medicaid/med_info.html which will probably be the only way. It may take a couple of months to get them on so don’t delay.
There are strict limitations to qualifying for Medicaid which vary from state to state. They must fall within income and asset limitations. If they make over those amounts they will still qualify for the care but they’ll need to pay part of facility charges. If they own a home they probably won’t have to sell it if there is any chance that one might move back but be aware that some states are going after the assets of a deceased person. I’m not sure whether Texas does or not.
They may be required to sell some of their assets to help pay for the facility. As a general rule Medicaid will count any cash, stocks, bonds, and cash value in life insurance policies.
There are many more rules and regulations that we can’t go into here.

Fingerprinting Real Estate Agents in Texas
There is a new rule requiring the fingerprinting of Real Estate Agents in Texas, however, this is not being done the the Department of Public Safety, but rather it is being carried out by a third party company for a fee. Why is Texas NOT using its own trained personnel to do this when the fingerprints have to be turned over to the DPS ANYWAY in order to be processed to the FBI? Looks like another effort to make a little money from something where there should be an easier way AND this puts the fingerprints in the hands of some contractor who now has access to things that he should never even see! Your thoughts?

Black Mold – Texas Mold Assessment & Remediation Rules?
Question by dlf: Black Mold – Texas Mold Assessment & Remediation Rules?
Back in 2004 entered into a lease/option contract to purchase a home. On the “Real Estate Disclosure” seller recorded, “Also this house was mold remediated over two ago by a company the previous owner hired. To the best of our knowledge the mold remediation was successful, we have seen no evidence of mold.” Can anyone tell if seller is required by law to provide copy of remediation certificate that was issued for this property? I have reason to believe previous seller sold house “as is” to present seller and mold remediation may not have been done.

the house seems 2 be changing hands 2 much.. i don’t think i would chance it because mold is dangerous 2 your health.. even seeing the paper now, would not satisfy me, seeing that the cleaning up was done over 2 years ago.. if you really want the house, maybe getting your own inspector 2 ease your mind..
